Barnett targets grist mill for Eagle Scout badge
Russell Lewis Barnett Jr., son of Rusty and Barbara Barnett of Spartanburg, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He is a member of the Church of the Advent Scout Troop No. 1.
Barnett is a student at Spartanburg High School, where he is a member of the varsity lacrosse team, student council, Tippers and Interact Club.
He is a member at Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he is involved in Young Life.
On Feb. 12 and 17, Barnett and other scouts worked about 118 hours to refurbish an old grist mill site in Peter’s Creek Heritage Trust Preserve controlled by S.P.A.C.E.
