Troop 1 will be camping at Lake Summit the weekend of August 18-20, 2017.  Scouts will have the opportunity to work on rank and merit badge advancement while spending a great day on the water.

Following breakfast Saturday morning we will spend the day engaging in lake activities.  Scouts will be able to complete requirements 5-7 of the Water Sports Merit Badge and the field portions of the Motorboating Merit Badge.    Scouts who attend should be ready to have some fun on the lake.  There will be plenty of lake “frolicking”.

We will plan to depart the scout hut at 4:30 Friday afternoon and plan to return about 11:00 on Sunday morning.  All scouts will travel in Class A uniform.  Since this trip is water related first year scouts will need to be accompanied by a parent or assigned guardian at least during the day on Saturday.  All scouts should bring a PFD marked with your name, and don’t forget those beach towels, swim suits, and fishing poles.  Everyone will be responsible for providing their own food except for Saturday lunch and dinner which will be provided by the troop.  Mark Mullen has big plans for a Saturday night feast which has the words Rib-Eye in it! Scouts should plan to bring tents as there is virtually no space for hammocks.   The cost for the weekend is $18 per scout and $12 per adult.  Scouts are expected to be in attendance on the campout from start to finish.
