Troop 1 has a special “summer surprise” trip in store that is sure to cure the summer doldrums as we will head to the Charlotte area for a three night extravaganza “scouting style” with plans for our scouts to earn both the Kayaking and Wilderness Survival Merit Badges.

Crossover/Court of Honor/Horsemanship We...
The entire family is invited to participate in supper and the Crossover ceremony. Cubs, Webelos, and their fathers are invited to join the Boy Scouts for camping Friday evening.
Paddling the Black Water – GPS Campout
Our end of the year (aka the GPS) camping trip will take us to the Edisto River just below Branchville, SC, where Troop 1 scouts will be paddling the black water of the mighty Edisto River Trail.
Mountain Backpacking Weekend
Once again Troop one will be heading to the gem of the Southeast – Pisgah National Forest. Once a place where George Vanderbilt owned all you could see from his estate at Biltmore. It is now 510,000 acres of trout streams, horse and hiking trails, and old growth forests.
Spelunking Weekend!
Troop 1 will be going spelunking on the February Camping trip with our friends from Rock Dimensions of Boone, NC as our guides. Worley’s Cave, also known as Morrell Cave, is located on private property in Eastern Tennessee.
Ski Trip 2014
Troop 1 will once again take on the challenge of conquering on skis, snowboards, skates, and foot the mountains around Boone, NC.
