Benjamin Green Suitt, Jr. was born June 4, 1920, a son of Benjamin Green Suitt, Sr. (1880–1953) and Mary Emma Warwick Suitt (1895–1966). The family moved to Spartanburg that same year.
According to the Spartanburg Herald, Suitt was the fifteenth Scout to reach Eagle since the Palmetto Council was organized on January 1 of that year, and the tenth in the city of Spartanburg.
He graduated from The Citadel, served in the Second World War, and owned Ben G. Suitt Wholesale Company. He died September 5, 1977, at fifty-seven, and is buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
