Eagle Scout: August 9, 1995
Nicholas D. Miller is the son of Glenn and Patricia Kekas Miller of Spartanburg. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout on August 9, 1995, and received the award on September 10, 1995, at age 16.
At the time, he was a junior at Spartanburg High School, where he played in the Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the Key Club and the yearbook staff. He was also active at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church as an altar server and president of its Greek Orthodox Youth of America (GOYA) chapter.
For his Eagle project, he and other Scouts painted the interior, exterior, and trailer of the house the Spartanburg City Fire Department took to local schools, fairs, and bazaars to teach children how to escape a burning building. They also helped re-roof it.
