Sanchez earns Eagle rank for Boy Scouts
William Reed Sanchez, 16, son of Anthony and Kimberlee Sanchez of Spartanburg, recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of the Church of the Advent Scout Troop No. 1. Sanchez is a student at Spartanburg Day School, where he is a member of the varsity soccer team.
He attends First Presbyterian Church, where he involved with the youth group and mission trips.
For his Eagle Scout project, Sanchez worked with the city manager, Tim Carter, and the Rail Trail Way Park. He constructed two picnic tables and a hanging swing at the new Rail Trail Dog Park on Union Street.
