James Lewis “Jim” Kendrick grew up in Spartanburg and followed his brother, Charles L. “Charlie” Kendrick III (Eagle, October 1972), through Troop 1. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout in May 1976. He is the son of C. Leonard Kendrick Jr. and Frances McNeill Bailey Kendrick, a Spartanburg schoolteacher and longtime member of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. He also has a sister, F. Bailey Kendrick.
