- Handouts – Distributed at the meeting, covering key dates, required paperwork (BSA Health and Medical Record, Swim Classification), swim test requirements, and snorkeling classes.
- Transportation – Still being worked out. We will do our best to accommodate families who want to make their own travel arrangements.
- Adult leader training – All adult leaders are asked to complete Wilderness First Aid for safety and for flexibility in boat assignments.
- Snorkel test – Sea Base administers a snorkel test before boarding the boat. Anyone who does not pass will be sent home.
- Waiting list – We have a waiting list. If you need to drop, please let us know as soon as possible so we can reassign the slot while the replacement still has time to complete all requirements.
- Snorkel gear – Plan on purchasing gear October 1, more info to follow. Families can buy from Cory at The Scuba Shop, an advantage if gear breaks, or order on their own. Note: Full face masks are not permitted at any Sea Base location.
- Crystal River Trip – Fun trip required for Scouts to help prepare for Sea Base snorkel test.
- Funding – High adventure funds from Piggly Fest may be used for this trip.
- Resource for families – Pages 24–31 of the Sea Base participant guide cover Coral Reef Sailing in detail. The guide is available here.
